Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American actor and musician. She began by releasing humorous, cleverly written lyrics in rap that dealt with questions of racial identity as well as sexuality. She then expanded her fans to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical journey as a trumpet player. Her birthplace was Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants and Korean immigrants. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop studies began when she was in her teens. When she was in college, she focused on her studies, and then studied women's studies as well as journalism. While she was for a brief amount of time, in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. Not until after graduation did she start focusing on music. My Vag, her song My Vag which was her reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick, became a popular viral sensation on the Internet and was later featured on her first LP Yellow Ranger. On the album, there were other viral hits including Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitche$. This latter song was directly connected to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. The resume of her included musicians and an author. Now she was looking to further her career in acting. Along with early series like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films like Neighbors to Storks. In 2018, she landed a number of major roles like Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. The EP debuted in June.
