Catherine Ford is a British actress born in Bloomsbury. When her father's departure from the family members, she was brought to maturity by her mother, godparents and grandmother. In her childhood Ford experienced anxiety related to an obsessional disorder. Ford was interested in the field of acting during her teen years, and became a member of the National Youth Theatre. She gained admission to the Sylvia Young Theatre School, but decided after a week that she wasn't a good choice for this school. Ford applied again to Central School of Speech and Drama and on the fourth time she applied she was eventually admitted. Shaun Dingwall played Pete Tyler in Doctor Who. Ford's first appearance on television was an episode in 1991 called Surgical Spirit. By the time she graduated, Ford already went by "Catherine Tate". Tate made appearances on television during the Nineties with shows such as The Bill and Men Behaving Badly. Apart from her regular stage work, Tate was a part of in the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2000-2001. But Tate quickly began gaining notice for her stand-up comedy, which she added to her repertoire in 1996.
